Loving you was the gentlest feeling I have ever known.

Showing that love, though, was never easy.

It was the loudest thing I have ever done—

loud enough for you to hear,

and loud enough for me to see

that your heart did not echo mine.


We once read the same chapter,

believing we shared the same story,

only to learn we were holding different books.

And that truth, at last,

was enough for me to let go.

Note 159: At the office table, tucked in a corner , I was working on a holiday, National Sports Day. Through the large window, I saw two birds swoop by in the clear blue sky. One was bigger than the other that flew close behind. I wondered if they were a pair, a couple, as we might call them, two little bird lovers. Perhaps the smaller one was the male. Why does nature design the female to be larger in size, yet less colorful than her mate? I grinned at the thought, then turned back to work.

Note:  63, June 2025 Our love is like a chemical reaction— my reactant has found its match, but sadly, there's no catalyst. It happened, still happening— slowly, steadily. Sometimes, I even wonder if it will take forever to reach the steady state where your heart equals mine— no more, no less, perfectly aligned. The energy is high, but the distance is far too great for the two to truly collide. And still, no product has been made. Just the reaction   that never quite stayed.
